===== Information for Users ("READ-ME") ================
README
Welcome to Bridge Assistant v3.1 a Windows program for all
bridge players. Please read this file first.
For more detailed inforation use the program's help program.
Run Bridge Assistant, Select 'Help', select 'Shareware Help'.
1. Introduction
DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
Shareware is a method of software distribution that
gives the user a chance to try the software before
buying it. If you try a Shareware program and continue
to use it, you are expected to register.
Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial
software and the copyright holder retains all rights,
with the exception that copying and distributing the
program for evaluation purposes is encouraged, subject
to certain conditions.
2. About the ASP
The Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP) was
formed in 1987 by a group of Shareware authors. The
intention was to inform users about Shareware,
encourage professionalism among authors and discourage
unethical practices (crippling programs, excessive
reminder screens, failure to respond to registration)
that were threatening the development of the Shareware
industry.
The author of Bridge Assistant 3.1 is a member of the
ASP and the following is the Ombudsman statement:
"This program is produced by a member of the
Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP). ASP wants
to make sure that the Shareware principle works for
you. If you are unable to resolve a Shareware-related
problem with an ASP member by contacting the member
directly, ASP may be able to help. The ASP Ombudsman
can help you resolve a dispute or problem with an ASP
member, but does not provide technical support for
members' products. Please write to the ASP Ombudsman
at 545 Grover Road, Muskegon, MI 49442 or send a
CompuServe message via CompuServe Mail to ASP Ombudsman
70007,3536."
3. Distribution
Feel free to share Bridge Assistant with your friends,
but please do not distribute the program in an
incomplete or modified form, or as part of another
system, or for a fee.
4. Registration
Bridge Assistant is a Shareware program and you are
requested if you find it useful and continue to use it
to register.
Registration costs: $37.50.
For your fee you will receive a license that will
enable you to use the software 'just like a book'.
Which means that the software may be used by any number
of people and may be freely moved from one computer
location to another, so long as there is no possibility
of it being used at one location while it is being used
at another. Just as a book cannot be read by two
different persons at the same time.
There are other benefits to registration:
1. You will be sent the latest version.
2. You will receive a printed manual.
3. You will receive a registration number.
4. You will be notified of product updates.
5. You will be entitled to eMail support.

Bridge Assistant requires WINDOWS so before
attempting to run it you should start windows. There
are then several ways to run a program for which you
should refer to the WINDOWS USER GUIDE.
One way to do it is to use PROGRAM MANAGER. Select
RUN from the FILE menu option. When the dialog box
appears type BRIDGE, you may have to type
C:\BRIDGE\BRIDGE if you haven't added the sub-
